Clinical Work

Therapy through Nest Psychotherapy

Some suffering is private. Some is social. Much of it is both.

My clinical work is grounded in the idea that personal distress is not separate from the conditions in which a life is lived: family, culture, work, stigma, history, community, money, body, loss, and the stories we inherit about who we are allowed to be.

I work with people navigating questions of meaning, purpose, identity, belonging, and life transitions. My background in clinical psychology, sociology, public health, research, and community-based care informs a therapeutic style that is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded.

How I think about therapy

Therapy can be a place to slow down and examine the patterns, roles, and inherited stories that have shaped a life. Some of those patterns may have once been necessary. Some may now feel too costly. Some may be hard to see clearly because they are reinforced by relationships, institutions, culture, or history.

I am interested in the relationship between personal authenticity and the material conditions that shape what feels possible. In therapy, that means attending to both inner experience and the world around it. I do not view people as problems to be fixed. I view therapy as a collaborative process of making sense, clarifying values, and creating room for a more coherent and livable life.

My Service

Make sense of your story. Making room for yourself.

Areas of focus:

Meaning, purpose, and values.
Identity, authenticity, and self-understanding.
Belonging, estrangement, and family or community conflict.
Life transitions, grief, and role changes.
Shame, guilt, self-resentment, and internalized social messages.
Queer and gender-expansive life experiences.
The effects of stigma, exclusion, and systems that do not always recognize one’s reality.
Intergenerational trauma, cultural expectations, and intersectional identity.
Attachment patterns, relational boundaries, and cultivating intimacy.

You may find this useful if you…

Are in a period of transition and are trying to understand what comes next.
Are questioning expectations about who you are supposed to be.
Are trying to live more honestly without losing connection, safety, or stability.
Are carrying shame, self-doubt, or self-resentment that feels older than the present moment.
Want therapy that can take identity, culture, power, and material conditions seriously without reducing your life to any single one of those things.
Are trying to make sense of family rupture, social exclusion, role change, loss, or the end of a life chapter.
