This is looking into the "pond" or whatever it is. You can see one of my white dragon koi... I think it turned out okay and it cost me under $100 to make. Inside is a 52 gallon plastic storage container lined in black plastic with Mexican beach stones lining the bottom (smooth, roundish-whitish stone) The wood is just treated fenceposts and the decorative spaced wood is just treated lattice wood.

Building my koi “pond” kicked my ass! I was so worn out that I was in bed asleep at 8 PM last night.

Not only have I lost a lot of muscle mass, I have apparently lost my ability to cut a straight line… even with a miter box.

I am still worn out today. All of my muscles ache.

But… Its done!

So, this is the side…

This is looking into the “pond” or whatever it is. You can see one of my white dragon koi… I think it turned out okay and it cost me under $100 to make. Inside is a 52 gallon plastic storage container lined in black plastic with Mexican beach stones lining the bottom (smooth, roundish-whitish stone) The wood is just treated fenceposts and the decorative spaced wood is just treated lattice wood.

Funny thing is, for a plastic tub… smaller that the one I got, but labeled “instant pond” – cost over $100… I got the 52 gallon tub for 16.

They move so much that it is hard to get a good pic. But this one is a fair pic of the dragon koi. They are a pure iridescent white and their long fins make them absolutely beautiful to watch.

I have some other carp… a sort of large goldfish. The two you see here are about 9″ long and almost tame. They will get (if given room) very, very large.

Just another (last one) of 5 of the 9 I have…
