Trolling the Troll

Cristan

A RadFem has been trying to troll me for about a week. She not only asserted that I’m male, but that I’m emotionally unstable, that by boobs aren’t perky and that I need to get surgery for that. Has anyone else noticed that some RadFems seem to morph into an amalgam of Ralph Kramden and Archie Bunker when they come in contact with a keyboard?

Anyway, this post is about trolling the troll. So, let’s take a ride on the trollercoaster:

Dear RadPhlem:

Every time you’ve attempted to debate me, you’ve failed to defend your fact assertions and you’ve failed to offend, anger or sadden me.  You’ve failed at playing that well-known RadFem troll game: be as nasty as possible to illicit an angry response so that you can then hold up that angry response as being somehow representative of the baseline emotional state of most trans folk. You’ve failed in the same way RadFems have failed to hold onto their privileged spot within the LGBT community and on top of that, you’ve failed in your effort to oppress trans folk into oblivion. You’ve even failed to hold onto voices like Julie Bendel who now despise your kind.

All of it’s come undone. Trans folk have achieved everything you’ve tried so hard to suppress over the years. Any anti-trans progress your kind made in the 70s and 80s has been reversed. For every regressive ordinance, law or policy, there’s hundreds of progressive ordinances, laws and/or polices to taking its place. You’ve become a joke in queer spaces, a pariah to queer discourse and just like any bigot, you now have to deal with being confronted at every turn. Do you have any idea how embarrassed queer people are of how you helped to physically beat and bloody trans folks at queer gatherings, how you hunted and outed trans folk to end their careers, how you lobbied TWO US presidents to have them legislate mandatory reparative therapy for trans folk, how you found a kindred spirit in the likes of the racist senator Jessie Helms or how you unsuccessfully lobbied the UN to overturn trans protections?

Think about all those hours you’ve invested – wasted – to only now look around and find that – after claiming to be “radical” all these years – your closest anti-trans ideological partner is the right-wing. How is it possible to fail on so many levels? I agree with real RadFems like Julie Bendel; your own movement thinks you’re a joke – a blight to be relegated to the dustbins of herstory by real RadFems.

Such. Utter. Failure.

So go on and mock my body (or the bodies of my trans brothers and sisters) some more like a good little right-winger.

Tell me more about how hysterical and irrational I am.

Tell me again why my kind should be segregated.

A friend of mine recently said:

I’ve never understood why they’re called radical feminists…  So I call them either conservative feminists or fundamentalist feminists, or confem/funfem.

I agree. There’s nothing radical about you other than your radical support of anti-trans right-wing ideology.

Consider this:

“This was a man, everyone recognized it’s a man, going into the women’s restroom. Now whether that person has good or ill intentions towards women, no one knows, but the fact of the matter is when you defy common sense and when it says ‘women’s fitting room’ and you allow people other than women in that fitting room, you’re just asking for trouble. This is just an absurd policy… [women] may be watched by a peeping tom or even worse, sexually assaulted or raped.”

Was this statement made by a ConFem or was it made by a right wing group?

Is it hard to tell?

In fact,  that statement is from the The Liberty Council (a right-wing fundamentalist Christian organization).  It’s a quote from Liberty Council’s Mat Staver on Crosstalk, discussing the firing of a Macy’s employee who refused to follow company equality policy for transgender customers.
